Midwinter Workshop: Broom Making w/Sisterwolf

  • The Stinking Rose SA 15033 Nacogdoches Road STE 103 San Antonio, TX, 78247 United States (map)

Brooms, magic, and witchcraft are themes normally associated with Samhain and Halloween, but the Yuletide season offers the darkest days of the year, where the gossamer veil exposes all manner of chilling folklore and frightful creatures. Join me for this very special Midwinter Workshop, where we will craft a stitched whisk handbroom. Learn the history and lore of brooms, along with some of my favorite seasonal folklore (like Frau Perchta, who sees to it that all your flax has been spun before the Twelfth Night, or else she’ll use the long knife she keeps hidden in the rags she wears to slit your belly and replace your innards with twigs and rocks).

This class is suited for all levels, and requires moderate hand and body strength. We will be gathering indoors, in the cozy classroom at The Stinking Rose. All tools and materials will be provided - along with some seasonal treats!

25% of ticket sales from this class will be donated to San Antonio Food Bank to help as they continue their work of getting food to our neighbors.
